The above scrolling banners are the FLASH movie  ticker.swf, based on this ticker.fla file that I have adapted to embed a non-system font.

The font that I have used is the original 1930s Hell Feldfernschreiber ("Feld-Hell") font, that I have captured as a TrueType font, using FontStruct. The font file is embedded in the .swf file.

Note that this original font only includes the characters A-Z 0-9 / - + ? as well as the space and the Feld-Hell pause character. The latter is substituted for the # character. Other characters will not work (they will show an ugly error-character)!

The .swf file requires that the browser has FLASH installed. Version 6 and above will work.

The file banner.xml specifies (1) the text to be shown, (2) the scrolling speed, and (3) the color of the text.

Speed is an integer or a decimal (with decimal point, not a decimal comma).

Color coding uses the standard hex codes, see e.g. here.

These three parameters can be changed to anything you'd like. Simply edit the .xml file with a text editor (e.g., Notepad). When the .swf file is (re)started, it will read the .xml file.

The .xml file must be put in the same server directory as the .swf file.

Above are three instantiations of the same banner. Just to show that it can easily be scaled (in an html editor, by simply clicking on a corner of the banner box and dragging it to the desired size).

The basic html code is in the ticker.html file.

Below are three more hell-tickers, each with their own .xml file.

Here is a PowerPoint presentation that includes the same three hell-tickers, and instructions on how to include them in a .ppt file.

Feel free to use it on your own website. I do appreciate getting some credit (even in very small print).
