- Preparation time: 45 minutes
- Cook/bake time: 55 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- 90 grams (2 lbs) fresh spinach leaves, steamed and well drained
- 300 grams (2 cups) of dice yellow onions
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- 5 eggs, lightly beaten
- 450 grams (1 lb) feta cheese, crumbled
- 450 grams (1 lb) cottage cheese
- 225 grams (½ lb) sour cream
- about 450 grams (1 lb) package of phylo dough sheets
EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES
- Frying pan
- Medium size bowl
- Oven dish
- I use a clear glass one, so I can check doneness of the dough etc.
PREPARATION / DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat the oven to 175 °C (350 °F)
- Sauté the onions and herbs in some olive oil
- Mix the eggs, cheeses, sour cream, and flour
- In a large baking dish, place 8 sheets of phylo, cover with filling, 8 sheets of phylo, etc. (end with phylo on top)
- Bake for 55 minutes
